THE HELMSMEN QUARTET of Ohio

THE HELMSMEN QUARTET
THE HELMSMEN QUARTET

In 1969, God brought three college students together in Bourbonnais, Illinois to form the Helmsmen. In 1971 the group reorganized in Owego, New York where God blessed their ministry until 2007 when the manager, Ken Eash and his family moved to Sturgis, Michigan. The Helmsmen Quartet of South-West Michigan was started up, and is still going strong today. In 2018 Ken & Lorri moved to Mount Vernon, OH. Ken again reorganized the Helmsmen. This time the Lord again put four talented men together to form the Helmsmen Quartet of Ohio. The personnel has changed over the years, but the zest for ministry has continued. God has used The Helmsmen to minister to thousands of people, through hundreds of church services and concerts. Many people have been saved, and many more have been encouraged to continue in their Christian faith. Over the years, The Helmsmen have recorded 18 albums. Their travels have taken them from Maine to Illinois, and Michigan to Pennsylvania. They have ministered in most denominations. They have sang in concerts with the Oaks Ridge Boys and the Kingdom Heirs. The Helmsmen Quartet consists of Michael Ankney (tenor), Steve Wilson (lead), Ken Eash (baritone/manager), and "Doc" Noah Wilson (bass). Together, The Helmsmen Quartet lead a worship service using mostly familiar old time Southern Gospel songs and hymns. The concert is rich in professionalism, and exalts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Their slogan is: "Southern Gospel Music the way you remember it!"
