The Gibson City Pentecostal Church was founded in Gibson City Illinois on July 16, 1963 by the Rev. Bob Koonce and his wife, Eileen Koonce. They had 5 children at that time (one came 12 years later). In 1994 the Rev. John Koonce was installed as Pastor of this small congreagation. Pastor John Koonce and wife Lisa, have 4 children, 3 daughters married to fine young men, one son, John, who can do anything, and 5 grandchildren (4 boys and one little girl). Recently the congregation moved from 510 W 9th st to a much larger a very nice new Church building at 301 S Melvin st. A spacious sanctuary, vestibule and gym/fellowship hall and plenty of parking are attractive attributes of this facility in which we now hold services. We are proud to support Southern Gospel music. It is THE music with a message. We have many good friends in the ministry. We hope to be able to hold special concerts and events as we can.
