God`s Quad Quartet was formed in the 1980`s following a High School Minstrel Show. Some of the men who sang enjoyed it so much they decided to begin a gospel quartet. They picked a name, bought some equipment and began to sing at local churches. The quartet consisted of a bass, baritone, tenor, and lead singer. The type of music was pure Southern Gospel.
Over the years, many personnel changes have occured. The last remaining original member, Jack Jackson, from Fairmont, West Virginia, retired in 2007. Todays members include: Jay Clark, lead singer, from Salem, Oh. Jay is a high school teacher and has been singing with this quartet for 19 years. Mark Burcaw, baritone singer, from North Benton, Oh. Mark is a trained Paramedic and has been with the quartet for 19 years also. Lee Kurtz, bass singer, from Columbiana, Oh. Lee is a retired bricklayer, he has been with the quartet for 4 years. Becky Vignon is an optician from Columbiana, Oh. singing the tenor part, and has been with the quartet for 2 years.
Over the years, God`s Quad Quartet has recorded many diffeent projects in various studios. Their CD`s are available at their concerts and directly from the singers themselves.
The God`s Quad Quartet has performed in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee. They have been featured in local newspapers, including special sections and the front page.
God`s Quad Quartet has performed with and opened for many nationally known Southern Gospel groups including: The Kingsmen, The Anchormen, Greater Vision, Ivan Parker, Heaven Bound, Doug Oldham, and Men of Music.
God`s Quad sings at church services, fairs, festivals, banquets, concerts, and gatherings. Their Southern Gospel sound with smooth four part harmony, mixed with humor, laughter, and the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ, continues to delight, entertain, lift-up, and drive a powerful message of the good news to all who hear them. God has truly opened doors and blessed this quartet through the years.
